What it means to be a High Country Wine

The High Country Region

2400 square miles, all above 2,000 feet in elevation give rise to a grape-growing region distinguished by unique climatic and geographic conditions which contribute to a distinct taste in wine produced from vineyards established within the area of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

High Country Winegrowers Association

An association of viticulturist and wine makers whose goal is to foster interest in growing quality wine grapes, producing quality wines and promoting both the wines and the industry in the Appalachian high country. Supporting initiatives include ongoing lectures, seminars, online informational support, and hands-on training.
